That Extra Mile
It is always refreshing when teachers or students do amazing things in education. Usually there’s a great accomplishment like a win at a robotics competition, acceptance to a great college or maybe a teacher was selected Teacher of the Year. Things like this are always great to celebrate. This story, however, is a win to be celebrated for several reasons. I wish all teachers thought like this.
I recently read a news story on Atlanta’s local Channel 12 News about a college student who showed up for his math class with his baby daughter in his arms. He apologetically explained to his professor that he did not have a baby sitter and thus brought the child to class. The professor’s response was golden.
