Today’s educators are facing challenges with students that are unprecedented. Student behavior seems to deteriorate each year with some of the worst offenders in grades K through 2. The cause of this decline can vary widely. Poor parenting, ineffective classroom management, ill-prepared students and kids who choose to not cooperate are common reasons for poor classroom behavior. Regardless of the cause, the number of out of control children in classrooms is increasing in all districts.
It is not unusual to have children throw chairs and other items, assault students without provocation, threaten the lives of peers and teachers, destroy expensive school property or completely trash a classroom hurling paper, supplies and whatever else is in reach everywhere.
