FHS “plants it” in Little Shop of Horrors
From the streets of Skid Row to the streets of who knows, these kids are going places. The talent at Forney High School never fails to impress and this year’s musical is no different.
The show shines under the expert direction of Brittany Murphy, FHS Department of Theatre, who directed the musical, designed costumes, props, makeup and hair for the production. The technically masterful, Jacob Thomas, FHS Department of Theatre, built the set, ran the sound board and was the technical director for the show.
Seymour Krelborn, admirably played by Tanner Diggs, is a meek and dejected assistant at a Mushnik’s Skid Row Florist who happens upon a strange plant, which he affectionately names “Audrey II” after Audrey, his crush at the shop, beautifully played by Sarah Shambaugh. Little does he know that this strange and unusual plant will develop a soulful R&B voice, a sassy mouth, and an unquenchable thirst for HUMAN BLOOD. Mr. Mushnik, masterfully played by Mason Peabody, fears Seymour will flee his shop for higher aspirations thus adopts him in order to keep him.
