Local Family’s Home Destroyed in Christmas Morning Fire
Christmas morning did not go as planned for the McIntyre Family this year. With a house full of their immediate family as well as an additional ten family members visiting for the holiday, Phillip and Kristin McIntyre anticipated waking up on Christmas morning to lots of laughter, gifts around the tree, and time spent enjoying each other’s company. Instead, the plans were completely derailed when a fire in the family’s fireplace spread through the living room, and eventually the rest of the house, around 1 AM on December 25.
Thankfully, everyone inside was able to escape to safety, and for this the family is abundantly grateful. “By the grace of God, everybody made it out just in the nick of time,” recalls Kristin. “I’m just thankful and blessed to be alive.” Despite the best efforts of the Forney Fire Department and the aid that had been requested from neighboring cities, unfortunately the whole house was eventually engulfed resulting in a total loss for the family.
