Congratulations to Rogan Ward, a student at Crosby Elementary School for being named the Elementary Student of the Month for March. The Forney ISD Board of Trustees recognized Mr. Ward at the March monthly board meeting on Monday, March 1, 2021.
The Forney ISD Marketing and Communications Department recently won several awards from the Texas School Public Relations Association, (TSPRA). The department won two silver star awards for newsletters, a silver star for writing and a gold star award the ‘120 Years Anniversary Video’. The department was also a Platinum Finalist and earned a Certificate of Merit for their 2019 Bond Campaign. The Forney Board of Trustees recognized the department for their success at the March regular board meeting on Monday, March 1, 2021. Members of the department at the meeting to receive the award were Ty Jones, Dana Curry, Kristin Zastoupil and Larry Coker.
Several Forney ISD student musicians were recently named all state musicians. The following students were named All-State Musicians.

Yes, it really is March, but I am not quite sure that the “cold is over.” In my memories are recollections of really cold spells and some quite heavy snow showers. But, I realized I was not physically “46” any more when I wrestled with the “Big C.” Maybe my memory is not “46” either! Let’s look at snow in March first. Keep in mind that this is for DFW and not for the outlying areas, which vary greatly!
