The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2024, recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives, serves as a beacon of hope amid the increasing political divisiveness that threatens our nation’s unity. Instead of preparing our nation for emerging threats, the Biden administration has weaponized our military to promote abortion, gender modification surgeries, and racial discrimination. In response to this destructive decline, Speaker McCarthy empowered conservatives to return the focus of our Department of Defense to its core purpose of protecting the American people.

Tara Hicks is a schoolteacher who has a deeprooted passion for providing her students with not only a great education, but also life experiences that leave these young men and women with lessons that stretch well beyond graduation. One way she accomplishes this lofty goal is through the planning and execution of educationally based trips with Crandall ISD students.

CDFIs are a network of mission-driven institutions that serve and empower lower income communities. Rely-On Credit Union is hosting a round table discussion and breakfast with local community and business leaders on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 to educate them about the benefits of having a CDFI in the community and about the benefits of partnering together to improve the community. Forney Youth Attends Junior Leadership School

Forney youth YM/LCpl McDonald, Lawson, and member of Kaufman County East Young Marines attend Young Marine Division 6 Junior Leadership school in TN. He has also recently returned from the Young Marine Division 4 encampment in Louisiana this past week. Determined and focused as a natural leader, YM LCpl Mc-Donald regards his responsibility as a duty and honor. A longstanding member of Free Life Church, when he is not volunteering with his unit, he is at church leading Sunday school programs and aiding where needed.

My Fish Have Died, What Caused the Problem?

Every year a number of East Texas pondowners lose part or all of their farm pond fish population due to an oxygen depletion. An oxygen depletion is not the only cause of fish die-offs in Texas ponds, but about 85% of the time it is the most common cause of fish kills. Pondowners should be aware of the causes, signs and corrective measures to lessen the likelihood of experiencing an oxygen depletion.
