Multiple Agencies Assist Sheriff’s Office in Manhunt

March 30, 2023, at 6:09 p.m. Kaufman County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a stolen vehicle reported out of Carrollton, Texas. The vehicle failed to stop and began to flee, traveling west on HWY 80. The pursuit ended after the suspect collided with another vehicle west bound HWY 80 at N. Jobson Rd. Sunnyvale, Texas. The driver then exited the vehicle firing multiple shots at the pursuing deputies while running on foot.

Crandall ISD Names Dr. AJ Murry as Interim Superintendent, Selects Leasor Crass to Conduct Search for Permanent

At a special meeting Saturday morning, the Crandall ISD Board of Trustees unanimously voted to name Dr. Anjanette (AJ) Murry as interim superintendent and tabbed Leasor Crass to oversee the district’s search for its next superintendent.

CISD Trustees Celebrate CTE Month, Name Newest Elementary Principal and CFO

CISD Trustees continued advancing the district’s internal leadership pipeline at Monday night’s regular board meeting, approving the move of two Pirates into campus and central office management positions. Jennifer Scott was named principal of the district’s sixth elementary campus and Dianna Casper was named chief financial officer.

The 5th Annual Gala Night for the Forney Education Foundation is happening on Saturday, April 1, 2023. This year it will take place at the Silver Saloon in Terrell, Texas from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, there still might be a few available – just check out the events tab on the home page for FEF. Texas Growth Continues, State Leads the Nation in Jobs Added Over the Last 12 Months

Texas added 58,200 positions in February 2023, leading the nation in jobs added over the month. In February, the state reached 13,831,900 total nonfarm jobs. February also marks two full years of uninterrupted monthly job growth in Texas. Since February 2022, 611,400 jobs have been added in Texas. The Texas seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased by 0.1 percentage points to 4.0 percent. However, the civilian labor force increased by 64,800 people which marked the largest monthly increase since September 2020.
