Boston Red Sox Go Down Swinging One Last Time!
My wife and I were prepared to attend the final Boston Red Sox vs. Texas Rangers baseball game in “old” Globe Life Park to begin at 7:05 Thursday evening. Fortunately, as I was watching the Wednesday night game on television, I heard the announcer say, “Don’t forget to come out for the final game of the Boston series tomorrow at 1:05 and have lunch with us.”
Yes, we changed our plans and arrived at the ballpark in plenty of time to enjoy our “once yearly” “fancy all-youcan-eat buffet” in the Jack Daniel’s Club and to get a table by the windows so that we could stay in there until the sun was off our seats outside and “across the way.” Iced tea, salmon, prime rib, baked chicken, salads, cheeses, crab cake, breads, multi-toppings nachos, corny dogs, two types of bratwurst dogs, potatoes, carrots, salsa, artichoke hearts, and so many other things I did not recognize that it was a wonder I was able to “waddle” to our “real seats” later in section 325! Vivian, being younger than I, was able to walk a little better—but not much—and we never did eat our peanuts-inthe-shells we had brought with us. We did drink our share of soda, though, for it was pretty warm outside.
