Kaufman County Ranked 3rd in the Nation for Percentage Growth
As of last week, the United States Census Bureau reported that Kaufman County leads much of the nation in percentage growth in counties where 20,000 or more people reside. Out of over 3,100 counties and county-equivalents in the United States, northeast Texas’ Kaufman County ranked third in this category with a 4.7% increase in population between 2017 and 2018. The county with the highest percentage growth for this time period was Williams County, North Dakota at 5.9%, followed closely by Comal County, Texas with 5.4% growth.
Impressively, but perhaps not surprisingly to residents, the Dallas/Fort Worth/Arlington metropolitan area boasted the highest numeric growth in the nation compared to other metropolitan areas. In 2018, the population of Dallas/ Fort Worth/Arlington was reported to have grown by 131,767 people.
